Dinosaur Treasures

ITP, NYU
New York, NY
2012

Dinosaur Treasures is an interactive, hands-on, educational sandbox that allows kids to become real archaeologists. They can literally dig in the sand and look for virtual fossils. When the fossils are found, they animate and tell you the story of their life. It’s a magic! Collaborated with Anh Ly.

We are using C++ and PoCode Library and the Microsoft Kinect to measure the depth of the sand. At a certain level of the depth, a virtual fossil is projected over the sand and after a few seconds later, the fossil becomes alive dinosaur and tells his own story.
